Learn How To Sell To Your
Home Business Opportunity Lead
Without Selling

I was in sales for many years and even though I was very good at it, I never liked selling, but I did like connecting with and helping people.

The selling techniques that they teach you just never felt right to me. It felt like I was trying to convince someone to do something so that I could make money. Then when I made the money it wasn't very rewarding. So, I kept searching for a solution but never really found one.

Because I was so uncomfortable with the whole sales process I decided to leave sales and become a Certified Life Coach so that I could help people. That is when I found my answer.

During my coaching certification I learned how to really connect with people. In coaching we use questions as a way getting people to talk about what they want in life and to help them decide how to get it. We listen to what is being said and what is not being said and we allow others to discover what is important to them and why.

Well when I decided to use my coaching skills to help my clients who were in Direct Sales, Network Marketing or any Home Business Opportunity the results were amazing. As a matter of fact they were so amazing that I joined a Home Business Opportunity myself and now only coach my own team.

You're probably wondering what we do when we talk to a home business opportunity lead to be so successful. It's actually really simple.

My "Selling with Soul" approach has 5 simple steps.

  1. Ask Questions - you need to ask questions that will help you and them learn two things. What has caused them to look for a home business opportunity and what will the right opportunity look like. Ask questions like...

What is going on in your life that caused you to look at my opportunity?

How will you know when you have found the right opportunity?

What do you imagine your life will be like when you get what you are looking for?

How is that different from what you have right now?

  2. Listen to what is being said and what is not being said - As your potential partner is talking you need to listen very closely. Show true interest in them and stop thinking about how you can get a sale or what you are going to say next. Just listen and you will know exactly what to say because you will really understand what they are looking for.
  3. Let Go of The Outcome - Be prepared to walk away if your opportunity doesn't fit what they want or if they are not what you are looking for on your team. This one thing alone will make people trust you and they will want to work with someone who is honest and genuine. Just focus on having a meaningful conversation about their needs and in the end let them decide if your solution works for them.
  4. Qualify - After you ask great questions about what they want and listen to the answers, you then ask qualifying questions to see if they are right for your team. Ask questions like...

Have you ever had a home based business before? (experience level)

How many hours do you have to devote to this opportunity? (commitment)

What results do you expect and how soon do you expect it? (realistic yet challenging)

What type of support will you need from me? (reasonable)

You need to have a clear picture of your ideal partner and see if they fit that picture.

  5. Get People To Listen To You - I believe that you never present until you have listened to the other person first and then ask them if they are interested in exploring a solution to the problem they just told you they have.

In traditional sales we cause people to reject us because we present our product before we understand what they need. Who cares if you have the best product or the longest running company or... People want solutions to their problems. It might be financial freedom, more time with their family and doing the things they enjoy, it might be working independently or not having to report to anyone. It could be many different things.

It makes no sense to present all of the benefits of joining your program to every lead you talk to. You need to present to them the things that they are looking for, not what you think they need. Does that make sense?

If you ask great questions, listen carefully, detach from the outcome, look for leaders and then ask if you can offer a solution do you think you will be rejected? In the end your opportunity might not be the right fit for them but that's ok. You will feel good that you helped someone realize what they want. They will feel listened to and understood by you and if they want to make a change you are the person they will go to.
